Three club athletes competed in the BUPA London 10k which incorporated the UK 10k Road Championships. Commitment to other events always meant that our teams would not be as strong as in 2011 when the women’s team finished second and in the end only 3 athletes competed. However, all three had good runs with Phil Parry finishing 69th in the race and securing victory in the Men’s V45 category with a 33:18 clocking having passed half-way in 16.31.
In the Women’s race Amy Stiles Chalk ran a perfectly judged race passing half-way in 18:10 and coming home in 36:28 for 17th place in the women’s race. Not too far behind in 23rd place in the women’s race was Annabel Granger who clocked 37:39. Very good times in the exceptionally warm conditions.
