Four club athletes were in action at the Loughborough International Meeting on Sunday 20th May 2012 with two ladies racing 200 metres and two men racing 1,500 metres. Emily Diamond running for Loughborough University finished second (24.16) to Hayley Jones (23.75), also from Loughborough in the Invitation ‘A’ race. Bethan Wakefield finished fourth in the Invitation ‘B’ race in 25.32.
In the Men’s Match 1,500 metres Mike Wilsmore running for Bristol Universities finished second in 3:44.41 to improve on his recent PB at the BUCS Championships. Behind him Steve Mitchell showed he is recovering from low iron levels and a hamstring niggle as he finished third in 3:45.37 representing England. The race was won by Bristol & West old boy Frank Baddick who clocked 3:42.53 – just outside his PB of 3:42.24.
