Racing at the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitation Meeting at Stanford California on 29th April 2012 Dave Bishop ran a Personal Best and New Club record of 3:37.51 as he went second in the UK rankings for 1,500 so far this year. In a race designed to help athletes achieve the Olympic ‘A’ standard Andy Baddeley ran his second fastest ever 1,500 to record 3:35.19 and take the win, as well as recording an Olympic ‘A’ standard. Just behind Dave Bishop was Chris O’Hare in 3:37.95
In the same meeting Imogen Ainsworth ran 10:43.22 in her second ever 3,000 metres steeplechase and although only ninth in the race her time currently ranks her fourth in the UK. Imo already had a UK trials qualifying time from her event debut and we look forward to her continuing to lower her times and return from the University of New Mexico to compete in the Olympic trials.
