Claire Hallissey warmed up for the London Marathon with a PB for 10 miles when finishing fifth in the Washington Cherry Blossom 10 with a 54:37 clocking. In a race won by Jelliah Tinega of Kenya in 54:02 Claire and a Polish Athlete went through half way together 21 seconds behind a pair of Ethiopian athletes and closed the gap so that Claire was only 4 seconds behind the third placed athlete and one second behind the Pole at the finish. Her time takes her to the head of the UK Female 10 mile rankings for 2012 by over 3 minutes and was a 20 second PB. Compared to Calire’s 56:17 clocking in the samme race last year it shows a big improvement and should send her into London confident that her pre-race preparation is going well.
