Junior Academy Desperately Needs More Coaching Support

22 Mar

After 15 months popular Junior Academy Coach Matt Coggins will be leaving us next week to move on from St Patrick’s School in St George to a new teaching position in Weston-super-Mare. Matt has been a great asset to the club since his involvement in February 2011 and we all wish him well in his new appointment. His departure will leave us with a need for an additional Assistant Coach/Athletics Leader from the beginning of April onwards. If you are interested in volunteering to help at the Junior Academy at Whitehall (Wednesday nights between 6.15 and 7.15 p.m.) please email the Club Development Adviser – Keith Brackstone – at keithatrvp@blueyonder.co.uk or call him on 07999-511366.

If you have no current qualification there is a one-day Athletic Leaders Course coming up in Devizes on Sunday 29th April 2012 or a two-day Coaching Assistants Course at South Gloucerstershire and Stroud (formerly Filton) College on Satuday 21st and Sunday 22nd April 2012 – for further details of the latter see http://www.englandathletics.org/courses.asp?itemid=8069&itemTitle=Coaching+Assistant&section=33 . The Club and Avon Athletic Association will each pay one-third towards the cost of these courses.
