A light breeze greeted the runners for Saturday’s Ashton Court Park run on 17th March 2012 with 16 members of the Whitehall Group running. It was a bright morning but not ideal conditions for fast times. Rich O’Kelly finished fifth in 18.57, his second fastest time on the course, followed by Peter Mountain first M50 in 19.44, a creditable course PB by 3 seconds! Dave Engledew and Gary Jennings were third and fourth M50s in 20.23 and 20.30 respectively with Carron Downer second M55 in 22.14.
The ladies did the club proud with Sarah Everitt, first lady in 21.37, knocking another 7 seconds off her course PB. Not to be outdone Tracy Allen second lady (1st W50), also recorded a new course PB by 4 seconds in 21.53 while Margaret Salter (second W50), returning to the fray after skiing, was fifth in 23.56. Becci Colquhoun finished seventh in 24.20 – 26 seconds faster than last week, Emma Withers ninth in her third fastest time on the course with 25.24 and Alison Engledew third W50 in 25.13.
Janet Lascelles was next home in 29.51 followed by Vanessa Redmond with a new course PB by a massive 50 seconds of 30.57, Debbie Riddiford 31.29 and Denise Williams 33.14. Katherine Stickler and Paul Burgess both eluded the timekeeper (probably because Paul was marshalling if I am not mistaken – Keith).
