It was another windy day slowing times for Saturday’s Ashton Court Parkrun with 12 members running. Colin Traer returned to the fray after a cold and finished fifth in 19.27 followed by Peter Mountain, first M50, in 20.14 and Jacob Butterly 21.11. Julia Belyavin was second lady in 21.16 followed by Tracy Allen, Margaret Salter and Alison Engledew, fourth, seventh and thirteenth ladies overall and first, second and third in the W50 category in 22.25, 24.16 and 26.05 respectively. Meanwhile, Carron Downer was first M55 in 22.14 followed by Paul Cooke who escaped the timekeeper, Andy Butterly in 29.07, Paul Burgess 29.31 and Denise Williams closing in with 33.22 – Denise ran almost a minute faster than last week.
Keith Brackstone has suggested that as a group Bristol & West/Whitehall runners go over to Cardiff in a few weeks time to run the Cardiff Parkrun for a change – also its flat and it would be interesting to see what times people could post and compare them with the particularly hilly run that is Ashton Court Parkrun.
