Even by Tuesday’s Bridge Inn 5K standards it was a mite nippy for today’s Ashton Court Park run but nothing daunted 18 members turned out. First back in fourth place was Colin Traer in 18.53 a course PB by a satisfying 22 seconds followed by David Engledew twelfth overall and 1first M50 in 20.21 closing in on his course PB again. We had 5 ladies home in the first 7, led by Diana Kennedy in first place in 21.03 followed by Sian Davis making her course debut in second place and first W50 in 21.39. Tracy Allen was third overall and second W50 in 22.23. It’s beginning to look good for our W45-54 team in May’s Masters Relays. Becci Colquhoun was fifth lady in 24.40 and Alison Engledew seventh and third W50 in 25.36. In between Jacob Butterly, who at the Bridge Inn 5K Tuesday recorded a 5K PB of 20.51, ran 21.55 and Paul Cooke, who has the distinction of recording course PBs on each of the five occasions he has done the Parkrun posted another by 21 seconds in 23.25. Sprinter Stephen Best was next in 24.04 followed by Rikki Porter (21.58 at the Bridge) in 24.21.
The battle of the M55 was won by Noel Arthur this week in 24.35 lopping a full 45 seconds off his course PB with Roger Brocklesby (PB at the Bridge 24.13) 2nd M55 in 25.11. Alex Leitch continued his come back with 26.32 while Andy Butterly again excelled knocking another big chunk off his course PB in 28.42 after a PB of 28.08 at Tuesdays Bridge Inn 5K. Paul Burgess too was in the business of course PBs this time lopping 45 secs off in 29.06.
Vanessa Redmond also ran a course PB by 17 seconds in 32.21 and Denise Williams was 33 seconds faster than last week in 33.48.
