With many people keeping their powder dry for the Bridge Inn on Tuesday 31st January 2012 there were fewer club members at today’s Ashton Court Park run, and consequently we were well represented among the marshals (Colin, Stephanie, Helen, Noel and Andy)! It was a sunny morning and good conditions for fast times. Rich O’Kelly was fifth home in 18.43 a course PB by 43 seconds a massive improvement over a fortnight! The ladies were led home by Diana Kennedy in third place in 21.12 half a minute faster than a fortnight ago, followed by Sarah Everitt fifth lady and first W45 knocking another 18 seconds off her course PB in an amazing 21.45. Equally laudable was first W50 and seventh lady home, Tracy Allen, improving her course PB by 10 seconds in 22.07. In between the ladies Gary Jennings returning after a nasty chest infection was second M50 in 21.21 followed by Jacob Butterly who this week did, as predicted last week, record a course PB by 17 seconds in 21.44. Dave Engledew (with dog) did 22.27 and Paulo Baesso 22.40 a good 88 seconds faster than last week! Duncan Colquhoun did 23.44 leading sister Becci who was ninth lady overall in 24.15, only 10 seconds shy of her course PB, while Alison Engeldew – third W50 – continued her recovery from a back injury with 25.14. Paul Burgess was pleased to shave another 3 seconds off his course PB with 29.43 and Denise Williams was 15 seconds faster than last week in 34.31.
