Firstly, a big thank you to everyone who turned up for the Saturday Session in Ashton Court on Saturday 21st January 2012 – coach Keith Brackstone was able to divide those who came into three groups – a male group, a female group and Ali’s boys group. There were enough people to make three very good groups and everyone was able to work hard around a core session of 3 sets of a five minute loop, a three minute loop and five hill sprints of 20 seconds with a 40 second recovery downhill with 90 seconds between the three elements involved in each set. There was a great feel to the session and Ali’s boys in particular were very keen throughout. The session was aimed at preparing athletes for the Midland cross-country on Saturday 28th January 2012 at Wollaton Park, Nottingham.
There will be a very similar session on Saturday 18th February 2012 at Ashton Court – meet at the Mansion Car Park at 10.00 a.m. – the aim will be to prepare athelets for the National Cross-Country at Parliament Hill the following Saturday.
