Rich Peters Opens his US Indoor Season

Rich Peters opened his indoor season on 19 January 2012 and solo ran from the front 4:00.12 for the mile in a low key US Collegiate meeting. According to Coach Mike Down “he claims tongue in cheek that it’s the fastest time indoors in the world this year! More significantly he said he could have run another lap at the same pace and has only done two light track sessions so far.” The race can be seen at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i_G4apjxWL0.

Mike further advises that there is a planned attack on the NCAA all-time mile record shortly and Richard is trying to get an invitation to that or otherwise the Boston Indoor Games mile in a fortnight’s time. The Boston record is 3:53 and bits and apparently Rich believes it is in his sights. With Steve Mitchell and Mike Wilsmore ranked second and fifth respectively in the UK Indoor 1,500 metre rankings and Dave Bishop about to open his Indoor season in the States Bristol & West AC 1,500 metre/Mile running has never been stronger.
