It was a lovely morning, albeit cold, at the Ashton Court Parkrun on Saturday 14th January 2012. There was a quartet of Bristol &West AC Whitehall Runners well to the fore led home by Rich O’Kelly making his debut in ninth place with 19.26, followed by Greg Chance twelfth in 19.44, Matt Marshall thirteenth in 19.50 and Dave Engledew first M50 and only 3 seconds off his course PB in 20.06. Diana Kennedy, looking the picture of health despite only 24 hours elapsing since she stepped off her return flight from Australia was second lady back in 21.38 while Sarah Everitt did it again another course PB by 13 seconds in 22.03 and now two and a half minutes off since May 2011! Helen Brooks, not at her best, was sixth lady in 23.42.
Meanwhile Roger Brocklesby second M55 set a course PB by a massive 23 seconds recording 25.11, that’s a minute and a half quicker since June. Catherine Stickler was thirteenth lady and finished close to her course PB in 25.42. Andy Butterly got another gold star knocking a substantial 17 seconds off his course PB and breaking the 30 minute barrier for the first time in 29.54. Next was Paul Burgess in 31.02, Denise Williams in 34.00 and Alex Leitch easing back into it with 35.22. Bev Campbell and Caroline Williams eluded the timekeepers, but we think it was a course PB for Bev and it was first time
for Caroline. With 15 runners we still continue to be the single largest group running in the Parkrun.
