Sixteen members of the Whitehall Recreational Running group turned out at Saturday’s Parkrun, and despite the conditions being less conducive for fast times (it was blowy on top) there were several course PBs. First back was Matt Marshall in 19.30, a course PB by 23 seconds. A small posse of members finished close together led by Greg Chance in 20.21 (only 6 seconds slower than his course PB), with David Engledew (first M50) returning after a cold in 20.31 and Stuart Price in 20.33. Diana Kennedy was again first lady home (21.01) followed by Sarah Everitt with another course PB by 16 seconds in 22.15 (that’s well over 2 minutes improvement since May!) and Helen Brookes fourth lady in 23.28. In between was Gary Jennings whose training is still being hampered by a knee injury sustained while running the Bristol half-marathon in September in 21.06, Tomas Szikzay in 21.50 a new course PB by 34 seconds, Alex Leitch returning from a chest infection in 22.57 and first M55 Carron Downer (23.01). Alison Engledew was first W50 and close to her course PB in 24.13 while Katherine Stickler fresh from her first full work out with the group last Monday recorded 25.57 knocking a full 40 seconds off her course PB set a week earlier (now was it that session?). Roger Brockelsby (4th M55) 26.33, Paul Burgess 30.33 and Denise Williams 33.27 all found the going a bit tough this week, but were not that far adrift of their course PBs.
