The mist cleared on Saturday at the Park run to reveal Ashton Court Park in all its autumnal glory. It was first timers and PBs day. Peter Gandon in third place overall led the B&W AC contingent home in 18.52, knocking a full 30 seconds off his course PB. Neil Scholes was first over 45 seconds back for his first run on the course in 19.22, followed by Matt Marshall who took 7 seconds of his course PB in 19.53, while Gregg Chance made his course debut in 20.25. Diana Kennedy led the ladies home in 20.53, Beth Scholes was second lady with 22.20 and Helen Brooks 4th lady in 24.11. So 3 ladies in the first 4! A little cluster of members came next all recording course PBs. They were lead by Jacob Butterly, knocking 4 seconds off in 22.01, Carron Downer, first M55, with a satisfying 19 secs off in 22.11 while Tomas Szikszay did 22.24 for a 19 second improvement. Darren Overend was content to get round the course this week after a hard weeks training in 23.33 followed by Noel Arthur with a massive course PB of 25.59 some 48 seconds faster than his previous best. Sarah Everitt (racing tomorrow) helped Andy Butterly to achieve his course PB of 31.47 knocking a hefty 28 seconds off his previous course record. Andy seemed pleased! It was good to see Paul Burgess back in harness again once more seeking the elusive sub-30 minutes on the course. It really looks as if the training is paying off so keep it up the good work everybody.
