V45 Men Take Team Title at Exmouth

The UK Masters 10 kilometre Road Race Championships were held at Exmouth on Sunday 2nd October 2011 and six athletes went and most (if not all) came away with medals. Phil Parry was fourth overall in 33.45 to secure the Vet 45 title and lead Mick O’Doherty (tenth and second Vet 50 in 34.09) and Mike Jacobs (twenty-sixth overall and eighth Vet 45 in 34.44) to the Men’s Vet 45 team title. Steve Goss finished fourteenth (and third Vet 40) in 34.44. Mark Srutton was forty-first and eighth Vet 50 in 36.47 (but still came away with a medal I am told as Third in the South-West Vet 50 category).

Our sole lady runner was Nikki Brookland who finished second in the ladies race (thirty-ninth overall) but captured the veteran 35 title in 36.34.

Well done to everyone.
