1) The Avon Network Basics day advertised for Sat 8th Oct at Bath Uni is cancelled.
The next one of these will be on Saturday 26th November 2011 at Bath University and will feature 5 x 90 minute workshops on Speed; Hurdles – especially 300 and 400 Hurdles; Pole vault for beginner coaches, including vaulting when you do not have a PV bed; Jav & Shot (both “real” and adapted equipment); and Lifting Techniques (both for absolute beginners and those with some experience).
As ever, coaches are invited to book in for as many sessions as they wish and to bring an athlete to act as their “demonstration model” in the future, cost per person per session will be £5.
2) On Sunday 11th December there will be a workshop day on Coaching athletes with Cerebral Palsy (CP) at Bath University to be led by Rob Ellchuk and Job King. More details will come about this on a flier in the next couple of weeks, but it is important to say that this is a day aimed at BOTH coaches and athletes. Job will also be inviting some athletes and coaches as well.
3) On the weekend of 15/16th October there is a Coaching Assistant course being run by England Athletics at Filton College (WISE Campus), Bristol. Currently there are lots of places available, infact without some more applications to attend the course is in imminent danger of being cancelled.
