Bristol & West AC were probably the best represented club at the Ashton Court Park run on Saturday 6 August 2011 with 10 members running, although not everybody put B&W AC as down as their affiliation.
Peter Gandon was fourth overall in 19.37 just over 10 seconds outside his PB but suffered a bit from the two hard speed/endurance sessions he did earlier in the week. Dave Engledew was ninth overall and first M50 in a new PB of 20.20, an improvement of 17 seconds, with Gary Jenning “fresh” from a new PB (39.17) in Friday’s Tow Path 10K in hot pursuit with, amazingly, another PB of 20.25 and 2nd M50.
Emma Bowers led the ladies race home in a PB by 61 seconds on the course with a time of 22.05. Sarah Everitt was third lady in 23.10, Su Nanayakkara was 5th lady in 25.12 with Alison Engledew close behind seventh lady overall and first W50 in 25.32. Lebert Scarlet made his debut on the course with 25.05, Roger Brocklesby was next in 26.34 while Harry Clayton first M70 in 28.34 seemingly defying his age knocking over 2 minutes of his course PB since his return to racing three weeks ago.
