Annabel and Imogen both win Team Gold

Racing for Great Britain & Northern Ireland in the European Cross-Country Championships in Abufeira, Portugal on Sunday 12th December 2010 Annabel Gummow and Imogen Ainsworth both came away with a Team Gold Medal. In the under-20 Women’s race Annabel produced a great performance to finish fourth scorer for the GB team in tenth Place – in a race where Aldershot duo Charlotte Purdue and Emelia Gorecka finished first and third to get the team off to a great start. Annabel was one place behind Lily Partridge as the GB team closed four in ten to run out clear winners with 23 points to Germany’s 53 points. The team was completed by Kate Avery in twelfth and Georgie Peel in twenty-seventh.

In her international debut, Imogen Ainsworth finished twenty-ninth as Emma Pallant (third) and Natalie Gray (seventh) led the GB Team home. Behind them Emily Pigeon was sixteenth, Sarah Waldron (twenty-first) and Elspeth Curran (twenty-fourth). Imogen’s race was very much up to her run in the trial as GB with 47 points just edged out the Russian Team (49 points) for the Team Gold Medals.

Our congratulations to them both.
