Claire Hallissey Eighteenth in 2010 World Half-Marathon Championships

Claire Hallissey finished a creditable eighteenth in the World Half-Marathon Championships in Nanning, China on Saturday 16th October 2010 in a time of 73:07. The race – which was run in hot and humid conditions – saw a battle between the East African nations with 4 Ethiopians and 3 Kenyas filling the first seven places with the winner Kenya’s Kiplagat in 68:24. Second and Third were Dire Tune (68:34) and Penina Arusei (69:05) both of Ethiopia. In the Men’s race Wison Kiprop of Kenya (60:07) prevented Zersenay Tadese (60:11) making it five wins in a row.
