Kate Goodhead runs a PB for Third Place in the Swansea 10k on Sunday 26th September 2010

Kate Goodhead ran (or equalled her PB) when finishing third female athlete at the Swansea 10 k. Having run 35:13 for third place in the Sunderland 10k earlier in the year Kate again finished third and again clocked 35:13 in the Swansea 10k, although according to the race web-site her ‘chip time’ was 35:12 – so does that equate to a new PB?  Anyway – whichever way you look at it – it was a great performance in a race won by Miriam Makewa of Kenya in 32:49 with Gemma Steele of Charnwood second female athlete in 33:34. Behind Kate in fourth place was Sarah Kiptoo of Kenya in 35:21.

Also making a return to competition in the race was Club Vice-Chairman Cy Knibb who ran 55 minutes 41 seconds (55:31 chip time) for a very creditable third place finish in the V65 category.
