Keith Brackstone Takes Key Development Role for B&WAC

24 Sep
The club is delighted to announce that due to the generosity of our President Peter Hargreaves we have been able to make our first professional appointment. The club committee felt that this was practically the only way we could realistically hope to manage the resposibilities and opportunities afforded by the imminent opening of the new track and field facilities at the Stoke Gifford and Whitehall Athletics stadiums.
After careful consideration we have decided to appoint Keith Brackstone to take over the role of Development Director on a two year contract, commencing on October 1st. As author of the current Avon Athletics Network plan which has been adapted by England Athletics, Keith has the ideal background and managerial experience to carry out what will be a very demanding but hopefully rewarding task, and we would like to congratulate him on his appointment.

“Twelve months ago we had a vacancy for a Development Officer and after a year of making new strategic alliances across the City we now have a paid Development Director” says Cy Knibb, Club Vice Chairman and outgoing Development Officer. Cy added that “Keith’s priorities will be to coordinate coaching and recruitment across the Club and support all our dedicated volunteers in their tremendous efforts to build on the successes of the past and help drive the club forward over the next few years”
