Impressive Half-Marathon Debut by Annabel Gummow Just Days After Turning 17

On Sunday 19th September Annabel Gummow was the first women to finish the Truro Half Marathon when she finished fifth overall in the race in a time of 1 hour and 18 minutes exactly.

Annabel was running her first race over the distance as she had only qualified for the event when she turned 17 years of age on the previous Thursday (16th September) and only decided to enter two days before the race.

This was the first race for Annabel since representing England Schools in  Glasgow over 3k in July, a race she was leading but ended with her in a Glasgow hospital.

Despite the positive performance Annabel is still focusing her training on the forthcoming cross-country season, although her next race for Bristol will be back on the road as part of a strong club under-17 girls team in the Midland Road Relay.
