Performances of the week

SENIORS

1 PHIL WYLIE – Phil only just failed to meet his top ten target in the World Duathlon championships held last weekend in North Carolina, finishing second Briton less than a minute behind the winner Jarrob Shoemaker of the USA and only 20 secs short of a top six place after nearly two hours of racing (10K run,40K bike,5K run). His first 10K time was an impressive 30:26.

2 TOM RUSSELL – Tom achieved the unique feat of unofficially winning the Gloucestershire cross-country relay championship on his tod, in the process holding off the not unformidable challenge imposed by both our own and Stroud’s star juniors!

3 IMOGEN AINSWORTH – Imo set our women’s team on course to victory with the fastest time of the day in the Gloucs X-C relays.

U20 JUNIORS

1 RICH PETERS – Rich continued his steady return to form by clocking the second fastest time overall in the Gloucs X-C relays.

2 NATHAN YOUNG – Like Rich Nathan produced a much better performance than he had in the previous weekend’s Midland road relays by clocking the fourth fastest time in the Gloucs X-C realys just three secs slower than Richard’s.

3 EMILY MERRICK – Emily anchored our winning women’s team in the Gloucs X-C relay with the third fastest time of the day.

MASTERS

1 JON GOODLAND – Jon clocked the impressive time for a V50 of 37:25 to finish as high as 24th among the 529 runners who completed the Cirencester 10K.

2 PHIL PARRY – Yes it’s Phil again for showing he can still hack it with the youngsters as he also set the fastest V40 time in the Gloucs X-C relays.

3 SIAN DAVIES – Like her partner Phil Sian was the fastest of the vets as she helped our women’s team to victory in the Gloucs X-C relay.
