The writing was on the wall when Olivia Sadler rounded the final bend of leg one in third place. With only a 53 second deficit to make up Annabel Gummow chased down the opposition running what’s believed to be the fastest stage of the day (13:01) eventually handing over a clear minutes advantage to Naomi Speake. This lead was to prove decisive for the U17 Ladies squad from Bristol & West AC.
Having been a member of the Club for four years and considering the number of quality performances put in this is the first time that Naomi has picked up a championship team title.
Luke Jacobs ran a fine first leg in the U15 boys race eventually handing over a 51 second lead to Miles Chandler and with Zac Tobias running the final leg the team managed to secure the Silver medals spot.
The Under 17 Men of Jack Thompson, George Hurford and Adam Speake did well to hang onto 7th place following the late withdrawal of Sam Bedwell (Car accident) and Rhys Park (Hamstring) in the 24 hours preceding the race
The Team of Miranda Sadler, Lily Owsley and Megan Fowler acquitted themselves well in the U15 Girls race finishing 15th (subject to confirmation)
With promising performances by the U13 Boys of Tom Grant, Stuart O’Connell and Kal Sevenzo, the Team Management were delighted with the days outcome
