UKA: National Young Athletes League 2009

Midland Premier Division at Tamworth
Sunday 19 July 2009

A numerically weak team contested the final McCain UK Young Athletes Midland Premier Division fixture at Tamworth.

The spirit of the athletes and their enjoyment of the day was reflected in their performances. A stormy cool day was not helpful to either sprinters or middle distance runners. Amazingly every athlete either finished 1st or 2nd in at least one event during the afternoon.

The sponsor provided t-shirts for the Club to present to the best athlete at each match. No athlete can receive an award more than once so on this occasion Jonathan Clayton and Jack Dyer take the accolades. Both achieved grade three performances on the day and have been very consistent and successful thoughout the season.

The match outcome was expected and leaves the team at the foot of the division. It has been a disappointing season mainly due to too few athletes and non availability of others too frequently. Clearly new athletes are always welcome.

MATCH SCORE
