Great day at Clevedon

Bristol & West had a great day out at Clevedon on boxing day, fielding one of strongest contigent of runners in recent years. Placing six of the first ten runners home and seventeen of the top fifty with twenty eight runners in total

The highlight of the day was Kate Reed breaking her own course record by ten or fifteen seconds.

Gary Davenport was the first Bristol runner home in a time of 19:26, just behind James Thie and race winner Ben Noade. David Bishop and Craig Peters were not far behind in fourth and fifth place.

The battle for first M40 was a close run thing with Phil Parry (sixth) just holding off the challenge of Dan Moore (seventh), with just two seconds between them at the end. Phil’s time of 19:46 was just outside Nick Rose’s M40 course record.

Completing the top ten for Bristol was Tim Wallis in eigth place, just breaking the twenty minute barrier.
